Anarch Political Factions

The anarchy has been around just long enough to ask the question, what does anarchy really mean? There are, by and large, 4 political factions that “anarchists” fall into.

Federalists - Federalists

Federalists believe in a representative democracy. They accept the need for a government in order to maintain order and to maintain the masquerade. They are in charge in most domains and most domains have at least some amount of representation, even if it isn’t through voting. The gang Leader/ Clan leader council, with a baron above it, is the hallmark of the Federalists.

Athenians - VoX Populi

Athenians: Athenians named themselves for the birthplace of democracy and want a true democratic government, One Kindred, One Vote. All decisions and rules determined by the majority vote. Some of them still want an executive to handle smaller matters but for that executive to be a servant of the people. This faction is full of Caitiff and of some Elders who feel like fixing a vote would be easier than having to deal with a council.

Tyrants - The War Forged Scepter

Tyrants: The Tyrants call back to the old days of Rome in a belief that benevolent tyranny is the most effective form of governance. They support a single strong Baron as the best form of government. Many anarchs view this political identity with suspicion as it is eerily similar to the camarilla. Supporters say it is nothing like the Camarilla since it lacks the top-heavy Justicariate and slavish devotion to “ the traditions.”

Rebels

Rebels: Rebels attempted to use the name True Anarchists for a while but were eventually convinced to back down from that name since it would provoke a fight from people who felt like they were being called “ fake:” anarchists. The Rebels believe that true anarchy, no elders, no positions, no rules, no government is the best form of governance. Critics say that this would lead to near-constant war and eventually being taken over by the Camarilla or Sabbat.

Lesser Political Factions

Wizards

Political faction that states whoever has the most magical power should be in charge. The development of blood and its use is chief among vampiric concerns.

Cleavers

Political faction that wants vampires to ditch the masquerade and live openly among vampires. Major talking point is about paying your herd.

Not So Ivory Tower

Political faction who wants Anarch to follow all of the traditions of the camarilla. Just be less dicks about the whole thing

Taoists

Political faction who wants kindred to surrender to the Courts of the Wan Kuei

Sirens

Political faction who believes the position of the harpy is vital to kindred society

Anarch Spiritual Factions

Faith is a tricky thing for many kindred. Kindred can with a few conversations have proof that a spiritual world exists. However, in the Camarilla, using these spirts for anything gets you treated with distrust and mockery if you’re not a member of Clan Tremere. “Belief” in these spirits gets you treated with distrust and labeled as someone who believes in fairy tales. In the Sabbat, they trust one and only one god, Caine.

The Anarchs are new enough that such hang-ups are less common in Anarch domains. People who treat all religions as hokey conspiracy exist, but they are as likely to be labeled a camarilla sympathizer for it as you are likely to be hurt by it. Belief in Caine in the way the sabbat does it is still likely to get you branded with suspicion but your political career likely isn't over just because you question the idea that maybe he was the first vampire.

In the last 100 years, three “organizations” have come to the forefront. They are a loose association of kindred at best. Each is tied to one or two of the Anarch Thaumaturgy schools.
