World Tree

Type: Basic Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Socials(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: The Verbena may speak to plant life, as per Wooden tongues.
  • Long cast: The Verbena can plant a world tree branch in their chantry. The world tree grants (Life) bonus traits to all verbena in the chantry on all checks. Up to (2) more verbena can cast this spell to grow the world tree, each one who does increases the trait bonus of the tree inside the haven by 1(Max+5). An item can carry the seed of the haven's main world tree branch, in which case it grants the bonus as if they were in the chantry once, before the wonder effect needs to be regrafted onto that item.

Lilith brought 4 seasonal realms into the horizon for the verbena this set of powers reflect those realms. Spring and summer is 1 rote, fall and winter is 1 rote.

Season's Blessings(Spring/Summer)

Type: Basic/complex as listed Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Socials(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: instant/1 scene

  • Short cast:
    • Spring(complex): Spend 3 quint and lay them in the ground with a physical(craft) check vs diff 5, after 3 months this becomes a single nature based level(1) node. Each mage with this rote can only have 1 node, but casting this spell as an action counts as double progress towards increasing its node level once per month.
    • Summer: (transformation) in this form the verbena is surrounded by the fauna of summer that surge and protect them.
      • Crown of summer(Basic): They gain +5 socials
      • Guarded by flowers: They Can call their expression instead of defense
      • Roots of the earth: They may conjure roots from the earth to make ranged grapple attacks using expression instead of athletics. Grappled targets can be pinned with subsequent actions. The Verbena is not considered grappled.
  • Long cast: N/A

Season's Blessings(Fall/Winter)

Type: Complex/Opposed As listed Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(arete) vs Mentals(willpower) Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene/instant

  • Short cast:
    • Autumn(Opposed): Make a mentals(arete) vs mentals(willpower) check failure results in the target being wracked with birthing pains regardless of gender. Targets affected by this spell cannot call physical skill retests and writhe on the ground in pain. Damage or losing another challenge ends the spell.
    • Winter(Complex): A verbena can walk the paths of the wyck with a mentals(arete) check vs diff 5, to find the souls of the dead and return someone who has been dead for no longer than an hour to life with 1 health level. If they’ve been dead for longer the verbena can still find the soul but it requires a journey into the umbra and is not guaranteed to succeed.
  • Long cast: Wonder: wyck path, this wonder is a map that allows the verbena to access the paths of the wyck in the umbra and bring up to (life) people with them, once used the map disintegrates. The wyck paths are backdoors through the world and do not require any means of umbral travel to reach their destination and return besides the use of the map.
