Fortitude
All vampires are supernaturally resilient, capable of surviving blows, slashes, bullet wounds and falls with impunity. Some few, however, are even more powerfully resilient, able to shrug off the most severe wounds and even resist the powers of fire and sunlight for a short time. The Discipline of Fortitude represents such resilience, and its mastery allows survival of situations that would otherwise cause Final Death in lesser Cainites.
The nomadic Gangrel and Ravnos clans, who must survive the rigors of the wilderness and travel, most commonly possess Fortitude. The Ventrue also exhibit this Discipline, often leading their charges into battle while shrugging off terrible attacks. Retests on Fortitude powers use the Survival Ability.
Passive: Each level of Fortitude gives the user an additional Healthy Health Level.
⚫ Bullet-Proof
Challenge: N/A Cost: N/A Duration: Passive
The Vampire takes 1/2 damage (round down) from firearms. Also, this damage is Bashing (Wound penalties do not exist in the game anymore.) Vampires take half the amount of bashing from Explosives if they have Fortitude 1, but the Lethal from Shrapnel or Tags is not halved.
For each level of Fortitude a Vampire possesses they gain an additional health level.
⚫⚫ Mettle
Challenge: N/A Cost: 1 Survival Retest Duration: Activated (Reflexive)
At this level of Fortitude, the kindred can spend a survival to stay conscious when in his unconscious health level. He can only do so once per scene.
⚫⚫⚫ Resilience
Challenge: N/A Cost: 1 Survival Retest Duration: Activated (Reflexive)
Your vampiric endurance far surpasses that of any mortal or even most other Cainites. You shrug off injury without a noticeable effect. Blows that would stagger or kill a mortal may not even scratch you. By spending a Survival retest, you reduce the first wound from any Lethal damage to nothing for the rest of the turn. This is a reflexive power and as such does not cost an action.
⚫⚫⚫⚫ Resistance
Challenge: N/A Cost: 1 Survival Retest Duration: Activated (Reflexive)
Even the banes to most Cainites, fire and sunlight, rarely injure you. You can endure punishment that would reduce other Cainites to ash, albeit for a brief time. By spending a Survival retest, your existing Resilience power is upgraded so that it reduces the first wound from any damage including Aggravated to nothing for the rest of the turn. This is a reflexive power and as such does not cost an action. You cannot activate fortitude 4 and 3 on the same action.
______ Master Levels____
⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ Aegis
Challenge: N/A Cost: Willpower (Permanent) Duration: Activated (Reflexive)
Like a bar of steel, a mountain, an immutable constant, you resist all damage and survive any but the most incredible of attacks. Only truly monumental or persistent force can ever destroy you completely. Indeed, once the storm of fire and destruction has passed, you rise out of the chaos unscathed.
At any point during a turn, you may declare the use of Aegis. You must expend a Permanent Willpower Trait to activate this Discipline. From the moment you declare Aegis, the next twelve levels of damage you take in the turn are negated. This is a reflexive power and as such does not cost an action. Aegis may only be activated once in any given round. Until Aegis is broken, you can not be staked.
