Cover: Cover is accrued by making deals with humans (Or other supernaturals) and taking parts of their personality, appearance, soul etc. for themselves. Once a Demon Spends a Point of Cover it is gone forever. If cover ever hits zero the Demon immediately assumes its apocalypse form.

Faustian Pact Cover can be accumulated by taking the action Grant Wishes or by fulfilling a Faustian pact with a mortal. Agreeing to do something for no charge and shaking the targets hand is enough to initiate a faustian pact. Once the deed is done, the target loses a permanent willpower and the Demon gains a point of Aether and Cover(new faces start at 4 cover).

Grant Wishes: The Demon may choose to Grant Easy Medium or Hard wishes. Each has a different difficulty and different chance of blowing their cover. Failure on Granting Wishes results in the demon losing a Cover instead. Grant wishes is done by taking a bluebook action, Faustian pacts can be done at any time, so long as the subject agrees.

Maintaining Multiple covers: A demon can maintain multiple covers but can only be accessing one body worth of cover(Each Has a max rating of 10) at any time. A demon can maintain Multiple bodies, each with a separate Cover Pool, they maintain a maximum of 3 bodies or up to 6 with levels of the Alternate Identity Background. Demons always recognize their own though, no matter what skin they wear.

Losing your Cover Running out of a body's Cover results in angels swarming the position. You must run. If you can get to your safehouse and recover a second body maybe you will survive. Any living thing seeing you will result in angels knowing where you are and combing the area. You will not survive long. Once your Cover is broken the ST will start a countdown at 5. You must come up with a plan to get out of sight or run. There will be a skill test based on your decision. The Result will cause the counter to increase or decrease. Failure results in combat with an Angel. Once in combat with an Angel, another will arrive every round. Once the Countdown ends, the combat is over and they lose. Angels can be distracted from the fight in several ways ( This only applies to losing your cover, attacking angels in other ways does not summon the Host.)

  • Destroying Property: Important property being destroyed will distract angels, adding to the countdown.
  • Endangering large numbers of Mortals: Not killing but maiming mortals will distract Angels.
  • Burning large quantities of Capital: Burning Resources 3 will confuse an Angel for a round.
  • Using computers to Haywire their Orders: A difficulty 5 Computers check can be made to scramble their signal.
  • Time! I need Time: Burning another body will add 2 to the countdown.
