On Jan 6, 1972, all of a sudden many Tzimisce found their powers going out of control during an event known as the Resurgence. New Clan Tzimisce found their bodies mutating in strange ways and Old Clan Tzimisce found their control of elements unwinding their bodies. The Clan was in tatters but just as many stories ended new ones were born into existence. At the end of the chaos, four new families were born from the ashes of the old.

The Revenant Families found their blood thickened. Many of the Zantosa, Grimaldi, Obertus and Bratovich were ghouls no more. The original Tzimisce did not take kindly to these newfound cousins and their penchant for diablerie upon their former powers and attempted to purge the upstarts, but weakened from the event they would later call "The Resurgence", their attempts to cull them were unsuccessful. Eventually, the Bratovich were acknowledged by the main clan to serve as crusaders and killers for the Sabbat. The Zantosa, Obertus, and Grimaldi were not as lucky and were persecuted relentlessly.

The Grimaldi were long hated by the other families for their perceived weakness and their distance from the culture and curiosities of the main clan. The remnants of the Tzimisce and Bratovich wiped the majority of them off the face of North America. The dozen or so remaining have fled into the Camarilla where they serve the Ivory Tower, in conditions barely better than when their blood was still weak, just waiting to be purged as a sign of the end times.

The Obertus on the other hand, had prepared for this moment for centuries. While they had always been perceived by their overlords as merely mysterious and scholarly, the Obertus had convinced themselves that they were the Dracon’s gift to the world. When The Resurgence occurred the Obertus had launched their plan into action and struck back against their oppressors using their new found aptitude for Koldunic Sorcery. With a powerful combination of magics and rampant diablerie the Obertus and the Zantossa managed to fight their way out of the Sabbat domains and into the nights. In the modern nights, the Obertus have sought refuge in various Anarch domains such as Orlando in order to recompose themselves and seek out more occult knowledge that was hidden from them by their masters.

The Zantosa were, like their cousins the Grimaldi, harshly persecuted by their former masters. However unlike their close cousins, the Zantosa were somewhat more adjusted to kindred society and the ways things worked. The few remaining convinced the Obertus to harbor them in their sanctums where they could plot their freedom and strike back against the Tzimisce. While the Zantosa could not contribute to their cause magically like the Obertus, they found their own source of power in their apparent willingness to commit diablerie. Empowered by the heart’s blood of elder Tzimisce, the Zantosa were able to charm and speak their way to freedom and ensure that the two allied families would find refuge in other domains.

Their first option for a more permanent home was to seek safety in the Camarilla, but after seeing firsthand the prowess of the Toreador who had had decades of experience that they lacked and the harsh treatment of their cousins the Grimaldi, they thought better. The Zantosa and Obertus, desperate at this point, had to look for other options. Eventually they found a more permanent home in the Anarch Movement with outstretched swords, but welcomed all the same. The few remaining families were involved with the taking of the Florida Peninsula by the new Anarch Free States, and for the first time in 12 years, they have gained a chance to rest and revel in their newfound power. As ghouls and revenants, the Zantosa and Obertus rarely saw firsthand the ruthlessness of Kindred Society and with their ascent (or descent) into true unlife, their grasp on humanity has become ever more tenuous. Whether it be the Obertus delving deeper into the occult Koldunic powers that came with Kupala’s demonic bargain, or the Zantosa looking to overcome their Great Shame of rampant diablerie with constant distractions such as drugs and sex. Will they end up just as monstrous as their former Tzimisce overlords? Or will they overcome?

2 New Families of Clan Tzimisce
Disciplines: Obertus: Koldonics (Tzimisce), Auspex, Animalism /// Zantosa: Presence, Vicissitude, Animalism

Clan Flaws: The “New” clans both suffer from a lessened clan flaw of the Tzimisce and from their own unique flaws.

-Tzimisce: Linked to the Land: A Tzimisce takes a -5 to all actions when operating in any domain they haven't slept for at least a night.

-Obertus: Territorial: The Obertus have inherited some of their forebears fierce hatred of uninvited guests. The Obertus must make a frenzy check (Diff 5) anytime a vampire intrudes on what they view as their property. Some Anarchs refer to this flaw as 'Hippity Hoppity get off my Property."

-Zantosa: Pleasure Addict: The Zantosa must make a Self-Control check (Diff 3) whenever they take a drug or are presented with an extremely pleasurable sensation. Failure leaves them unable to take any action other than continuing what they are doing until it is finished or 10 minutes, whichever is longer.
Free Action: Research

Clan Advantage: Obertus: The Family /// Zantosa: Servant Crafting
