“ The Flock”

  • In this game, Gargoyles are not capable of Embracing

Slaves no more. Gargoyles are the “children” and slaves of their masters the Tremere. The Gargoyles are treated worse than nothing by their makers. Tools nothing more, and while some claim to enjoy their place in the world or feel comfortable as a servant, others do not. The first Gargoyles were freed by the creator of the ritual, Virsitania, mother of Gargoyles in the 1200’s and Gargoyles have been shaking their bonds ever since. Some freed stonemen exist within the camarilla, under the thumb of those they escape from while others move to the sabbat and deal with the constant barrage of chaos. Many moved to the Free states which is considered a haven for Free Gargoyles though many find the lack of structure and focus frustrating. They are people without a home. No longer slaves, but no direction either. They live at the edges of society or under the boot of others. The California Free state accepted them but it was not theirs. It belonged to the unformed passion of the Brujah and the other clans who formed it.

A desperate yearning for family and structure exists within each of them, possibly placed there by the tremere or maybe it's the way in which the strange warped urge to embrace and create progeny emerges in their stone bodies. They cannot create progeny, though many of them fill this need by going on dangerous abolitionist runs, freeing more of their kin, and then breaking the Tremere mind control on them. The Flock started off as one such group of abolitionists but then an opportunity presented itself.

The push into a new “Free State” offered the chance for the Gargoyles to create a home of their own, some place they could rest their wings and form into a people unto themselves, servants to no one but themselves. The Flock joined the push into Florida with the goal of being recognized as much as any other clan.

For the first time, the Runaways will stand alone like the mountain they are carved from. Will they soar to new heights? Or crumble and fade away like dust in the wind.
