When another looks into the mirror at a Lasombra, they see a blurry figure and nothing more. This in and of itself can be a bit of an issue, but when a Lasombra looks at their reflection, they see something far more terrible. It's unique for each Lasombra, as they see their twisted soul, their beast in full control of their body, twisting and changing to highlight all the ways in which the Lasombra loathes themself. They see their weakness, their chin that's far too pointy, each and every blemish on their skin that will never go away now that they are creatures of stasis. They don’t even like looking at paintings of themselves. Many of them keep a ghoul that looks similar to themself to serve as a mirror of sorts; their contempt for this individual will grow and grow until, after an outburst, they will eventually have to replace them. In fact, anything that isn’t a Kindred that they imbue with their blood, they eventually come to see as a reflection of themself… and, therefore, hate it.

When the Lasombra sees their own reflection, they must make a Dif 3 Frenzy check (Self Control, once per Scene, once per Mirror per night). In addition, anytime they use a retainer to perform as part of an action, they must make two simple tests. On a double failure, they kill their retainer or otherwise make them unable to serve as they see too much of themselves in the ghoul and take it out on them (once per Month). This doesn’t trigger a humanity test. The Lasombra knows that they deserve it because, after all

By taking this clan flaw you have access to Abyssal Manifestations

Abyssal Manifestations

The Abyss has no natural inhabitants. This is a startling revelation to any kindred who has peered into the void and seen the dancing creatures of liquid shadow that dance throughout the realm, and even more so to any Lasombra who has summoned forth said inhabitants to do its bidding in the skinlands. The “ creatures” of the abyss are nothing more than the saved memories of others who have touched the abyss for the realm is psycho reactive. Any who travel through it or dabble with its magic leave their impression behind. Those impressions take form over time. Most impressions are subtle enough that they are nothing more than skittering madness, anger and hate given bodies. Some, though, left a more lasting impression upon the darkened lands.

Truly talented Abyssal masters may summon up these impressions from the darkness allowing them to use their oblivion in yet more fantastical ways. These are unique Oblivion level 5’s that call on the psychic impressions left on the Abyss. Lasombra may learn them as normal if they have Reflection of the Soul clan flaw. Other clans members and Lasombra without Reflection of the soul may purchase them but must learn them from a Lasombra and pay a 10 exp surcharge when learning them.

Shadow Storage

Cost: None

Duration: until dismissed.

To most a shadow is the afterimage of a thing, the place where light is not. To a Lasonbra they know that a shadow is a world in and of itself. One in which they can use as another would use a purse. A Lasonbra may store 1 unconcealable weapon in their shadow and pull it forth with a flick of their wrist at any time. It costs 1 step to pick it up as though they are retrieving an item from the ground. The Lasombra may vanish the weapon back into their shadow at any time.

Unleash the Kraken

Cost 1 Blood, 1 Willpower

Duration: until Dismissed.

The Lasombra drops their blood into a body of water at least the size of a standard Olympic swimming pool. The Portal to the Abyss opens and out crawls a swarming mass of tentacles. Each round during the Helper tick, every character in the scene that does not possess at least oblivion 3 must make a simple test.. Failure results in them suffering 3L. This takes the place of the Lasombra’s tentacle action. The Kraken so summoned continues to attack and tear at everything until the Lasombra loses consciousness or banishes it.
