Each Malkvian must pick a trigger for their insanity, a virtue it affects, and an effect from below. The trigger must be approved by staff and must be something likely to come up over the course of 3 games. (STAFF will insert your trigger into scenes 1-3 times a year; be warned.)

The affected virtue must always be your lowest-rated virtue. When your trigger comes up, it is that virtue which you test (Dif 5). Failure results in the Malkavian entering a very special kind of frenzy.

The effects are general and not tied to any virtue on purpose. A Malkavian exists in a different reality. The cause and effect don't need to be clear to the normies living in their shared illusion.

Failure conditions:

Sadness:

The Malkavian becomes unable to initiate challenges for the scene and loses an action that month to Meditation (see Malk Meditation)

Desire for Perfection:

The Malkavian becomes obsessed with fixing someone or something in the scene. In the scene, they must possess the object or person and lose ties to any action not taken to try and get it until it is in their haven. They lose an action that month trying to fix something (This counts as meditation see Malk Meditation below)

Split Persona:

The Malkavian changes personality. Their desires invert, and the staff provides them a new goal for the scene (or next scene.)(They lose an action following this other persons goals; this counts as meditation; see Malk meditation below)

Whimsy:

The Malkavian cannot take anything seriously. They cannot spend Willpower for the scene. For the rest of the night. Anytime you spend a Will, you must spend 2. (They lose an action pursuing whims of fancy this month. Counts as Meditation)

A Different World:

For the remainder of the night, once per scene, the staff may lie about the results of any action and describe things in the scene that aren't there. (We will send an alert to all staffers) (The Malk loses an action perfecting their illusory world, like a little mental vacation, this counts as Meditation)

Malkavian Meditation: Malkavians cannot meditate normally, their insanity prevents it. However, they can achieve a similar soothing experience by embracing their insanity. A malkavian enters a trance and allows their madness to take them over. Any time Malkavian meditates, they must make a test as though they have Live-Fired.
