Any vampire can tell you that blood brings with it the memories and experiences of those upon whom the kindred imbibes. For most vampires, this is merely a pleasurable side effect of drinking vitae; however, for the Ventrue, who become utterly addicted to a single type of blood, this Blood resonance can have a much more powerful effect.

A Ventrue still chooses their preferred prey like usual, but their Herd is not capped at 2. Instead, they also choose one of the below Resonances, which affects their emotions so long as they are within 3 blood of full. A Ventrue can ignore the effects entirely by entering game 3 blood less than max as soon as they are back above that threshold, though the resonance reasserts itself.

Note: You can just spend 3 blood to eliminate the effect. However, you must do something with that blood and can only spend up to your generational limit.

Resonance of Purity

The Ventrue’s mind screams at injustice, the injustice that they create—the violation they assert upon the world. The Vampire will not spend Intimidate retests, nor will they spend Willpower to activate any Dominate ability. In addition, they must make a self-control frenzy test (Dif 3) if an “innocent” is attacked in front of them. (Innocent is defined as someone surrendering, being killed without an authority pronouncing a sentence, or most unaugmented humans who arent murderers.)

Resonance of Lust

The Ventrue doesn’t have a libido, but their mind thinks they do. Anytime someone bids more than 12 socials in a challenge they are in or a challenge they are present for, the Ventrue will not spend Willpower to defend against their social attacks. If that person is attacked, they must make a (Dif 3) Self Control not to leap to their defense. Only triggers once per person, per evening.

Why do today, What can be put off until tomorrow? The Ventrue live forever, after all. A Ventrue cannot initiate combat. In addition, until they are struck/ dealt damage, they cannot spend Willpower to refresh skills.


Bend the World to Order

Having this Flaw gives the Ventrue access to the following Level 5 Dominate Disciplines. A Ventrue with the above clan flaw may purchase these normally. All others can learn them, but only from a Ventrue and with an additional 10 Exp (5 freebies) surcharge.

Dominate is the defining discipline of the Ventrue. No one shapes and dominates minds quite like them. Other clans can learn them. However, only Ventrue can teach them. A non-Ventrue character starting with one of these will owe two major boons to a Ventrue in the game. If there are no Ventrue, it will be assigned to another person ( the boons were traded)

Body Like a Piledriver

The Ventrue dominate themselves to go beyond their body’s perceived limits. While wielding a Durable Weapon, the Ventrue may spend an Intimidate and take a point of Lethal (Soakable with Fortitude), to deal one additional damage. The damage dealt is equal to the most severe type present in the attack. The Ventrue cannot use this barehanded as it would break every bone in their hand or foot.

What You Can’t See Can Command You.

The Ventrue may use all their Dominate powers through touch in addition to eye contact. They must still speak the words. When doing it through touch, No one is given an awareness to notice power use.
