Time rotes

Infinity Steps

Type: Basic/Extra action Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 Round.

  • Short cast: The Mage casts the spell, and on the following turn they gain additional actions equal to their Time Sphere -1. They also get to move on their (time)+2 celerity, instead of (time).
  • Long cast: The Mage may take 2 actions per round in combat for the evening as per celerity. They may not cast spells or use ranged weapons during either action. If they are a master of time they may cast spells or use a weapon with the ballistic tag with one of these actions.

Bullet Time

Type: Basic Paradox: +2 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: While active, You may spend an Awareness when attacked. For the remainder of the initiative you reduce the damage of any non-spell ranged attack by your Time, and any other attack by one.
  • Long cast: When you long cast this spell ranged Lethal attacks deal -1 damage to you and that damage is bashing. This stacks with the short cast to a minimum of zero.

Groundhog Day

Type: Opposed Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(Arete) vs Mentals(willpower) Cost: 1Q Duration: (time) actions

  • Short cast: You trap a target who has already taken an action this round into taking the same action for (time) more actions. They repeat the action to the best of their ability, spending willpower and energy as able to do so. You may apply a cumulative +1 trait bonus(max +3) to the each repeat of the action if you so wish. So the first repeated action gets +1 traits, the 2nd +2, and the 3rd +3.
  • Long cast: If you cast this spell as an action, you can force a target whose name you know in the same city as you to take only 1 action for all their available actions, they pick which action to repeat.

Time Travel

Type: Basic Paradox: +2 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: With this spell you can travel to the past or future as a pure observer. You can ask up to (time) questions about the immediate past or future, if you are a master of time(3) you can ask about events that occurred up to a year ago. This power can only be used once per night on a location.
  • Long cast: You can cast this spell as an action to acquire a specific item from the past or future at ST discretion, there are now two of that item. If the two items are ever in the same scene you receive a paradox backlash.

Stasis

Type: Opposed Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(Arete) vs Physicals(defense) Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: You can cast this spell to paralyze one target, until they take damage or are affected by another power, if you are a master of time(3) you can target one additional creature.
  • Long cast: Wonder: Molasses watch. You create a Wonder that when activated halves (round up) the steps of every person in the scene. Useable once per night. On other wonders this manifest as a button with a clock on it.
