The Abeline heresy believes they are the children of Abel, granted the power to stand between Humanity and the Devils. God returned the heart that Caine ripped from his brother to turn Abel into his Dark Angel. The Followers believe their powers come directly from God as his power flowed through Abel and, thus, through Abels's Children, the Baali. The true purpose of the Baali is to fight devils, but many of the clan have turned from that purpose.
This works just like Twice-Damned but has a different explanation of where the powers come from. The powers still appear infernal to observers. The Followers of the Heresy would say this is because they were granted the powers of darkness to fight said darkness.
