Sabbat Political Factions

The Sabbat were once the First Anarch Revolt. The ideals of Freedom, the need for unity, and the strucure of the sect from within. Three civil wars have been fought with the current peace held up by the Code of Milan. Many sabbatist align with a political faction on what it means to be sabbat.

Loyalists- The First Anarchs

The Loyalists hold to the ideals of the first Anarch Revolt. That All Kindred should be free. They often scoff at the sabbats structure or see it as a temporary evil. Most Appose the Code of Milan outright. Their faction is often looked at suspiciously for many in their ranks have left the Sabbat for the new waves of anarch revolts but those that stayed are Loyal to the First Revolt.

Moderates- Reformers

The Moderates still cling to the ideals of the first revolt but support much of the Sabbats structure. They Believe that reform is needed to allow more personal freedom and are staunch defenders of the independence and autotomy of Packs. Often skeptical of the institutions of the Black hand or the Inquisition and their power within the Sabbat its self.

The Status Quo- Obstructionist

The Status Quo oppose any changes to the Code of Milan or the structure of the Sabbat. They believe the constant infighting will weaken the sect and the Sabbat has the tool to achieve victory now. Loosening the structure of the sect will prevent a unified front. While becoming more centralized will cause the left to join the Anarchs.

The Orthodox- The Devote

Believers in The Dark Father. They advocate to strengthen the roll of the Priest and religious orders within the Sabbat even if that means reforming the Code of Milan. But are not as intolerant or closed minded as the Ultra Conservative. For their are many ways the Dark Father reveals his will. The Sword of Caine need not strike it self when the their are so many other enemies.

The Ultra-Conservatives - The Nodd Thumpers

Gehenna comes, The hour of The Dark Father is neigh. We must prepare for the final battle no matter the cost. Simply revising the code may not be enough. The Sword shall be purified by the blood heretics. Our Packs culled of the Unfaithful. The Sabbat must be united to be ready for the End Times

Lesser Factions

The Black Hand

the Black Hand are the Sabbats special forces. A standing army that can be called up in times of need. Rumors whisper that the hand is older than sabbats founding and has existed sense the first anarch revolt. To be recognized as a member of the Hand is a great honor for any Sabbatist. They are lead by a Seraphim, a council of 4 kindred who serve the Regent in Mexico City. They are most concern with fighting the Camarilla pushing the crusade ever forward, and with defending Sabbat territories from incursions from the Anarchs and the Camarilla. As a rule of the Order. No member of the Black Hand may hold a posstion higher than ductus of a pack. so that the security of the sabbat does not fall sway to political infighting from Bishops and Templars. They have a famous rivalry with the Inquistion that has lead to bloodshed in the past. The hand sees the Inquisition as a corrupt origzation that divides the Sabbat against itself. None may join both factions. The few that have tried have not been heard from.

The Inquisition

The Inquisition main role is to hunt Infernalist and those who consort with Demons. Secondarily the keep the faith of the sabbat pure. Purging Heretics on false paths, worshipers of the Antediluvians, and sympathizers to the camarilla. While a bishop outranks most Inquisitors. One who gets on the bad side of the Inquisition may find their eyes always on them. They are lead by the Grand Inquisitor who is appointed by the Sabbat Regent in Mexico City. The relatively young age of the organization has lead to a bloody rivalry with the more established and respected Black Hamd. Their fueds with the Black Hand has lead to blood being spilt in the past. The secretive nature of the black hand raises grest suspicion from high ranking inquisitors. And the lives of many Inquisitors are suspected by black hand assassins.

The Thieves Guild

The Thieves Guild is an organization of Sabbatist that go after High Stake target to entertain themselves, Mess with the Enemy sects or rival Sabbatists, and Enrich themselves. Chapters exist across multiple sabbat Diocese with no known central authority causing rivalries to occur frequently between branches of the organization. Each branch is lead by a Guild master who is effectively leader though most branches care little for about who is incharge. Initiation require the recommendation of any member is good standing and the completion of a task determined by the guild master.

The Noddest Society

A Club of Noddest scholars that share information on Noddism. They seek pages of the book of Nod, Secrets of the Vampiric condition, and often practice the Sabbat casting. The book of Nod is the holiest text of the Sabbat, yet no complete version exists. Fragments and pages are all that exist and forgeries are abundant. Thus the Noddest Society formed long ago to collect, cataloge, and verify what scraps of the dark past still remain. While many noddist hoard their knowledge and pages, The Society dream of one day finding or reconstructing a complete version of the Book of Nod. Division within the Society tend to be more pedantic over preferred translations, and conflicting passages. But rarely devolve into infighting, at least on the debate stage.

The Network

Also called Missionaries. The Network are those who seek to do diplomacy with other sects. While often to recruit them, they also do prisoner exchanges, and trade information. Across the Camarilla and the Anarchy are those who see the elders as the slave masters they are, who fear the whispers of the thirsting founders, and feel the call of the Dark Father. These are the people the Missionaries look for. Malcontents and seeker who seek the truth of the blood and to throw off the chains of the Elders, They just need to hear the message of the sword of Caine. The network has ear all across the sects listening for weakness and heart ready to hear the truth. But though gehenna draws near, it will likely not be tomorrow thus the network also are those that negotiate peace between Domains and Dioceses, and when the battle end they are who trade prisoners of war.

Paths of Caine

The Sabbat reject humanity, embracing what it means to be a vampire but what that means is not agreed upon by even the Sabbat. Various Paths have been codified and canonized by the Priests of the Sabbat. With different beliefs on what it means to be a Cainite.

The Path of Caine

While other paths can be Noddest none are more devote to The Dark Father as those that walk his path. The Noddist see Caine as the first and greatest Vampire and seek to emulate him to become greater Kindred. They spread the word of The Dark Father to all kindred who seek it. Their Vitae is a gift and any who squander it do not deserve it. To them their is no holier act that diablerie as they take another step to further understanding Caine, those that were diablerized were simple not worthy of The Dark Fathers Gifts. When it comes to mortal, it is often best to ignore them.

The Path of Cathari

The Cathars are those kindred who still cling to God. but their version of god is neither loving nor good. They believe that God is wicked and that he created vampires to rule over Mortals with both pain and pleasure. Kindred are Evil and that what God intended. The let their Vices guide them even if it stirs the beast. They live in excess, enjoying the Pleasure of life and death, corrupting all those who seek a to live a good honest life. They live openly, showing their degeneracy the Demiurge has made them for the world to see, masquerade be Damned. As for mortals, this is their hell, where here to enjoy it.

The Path of Death and the Soul

The Necronomists study death, life, and the transition between. Vampire are creatures of Death and must devote themselves to truly understanding it. They are scholars and serial killers. Ever learning and seeking new morbid arts and knowledge, they reject worldly matter in purist of greater wisdom. Often mixing with other forms of dead like Wraiths and Geists, they delve into the shadowlands seeking the Ultimate Truth of Death and their Immortal Souls. As for mortal, one will learn more from their death than their life.

Path of Power and the Inner Voice

Often called Unifiers, these Kindred believe the best way to tame to beast is to control the world around them. They are harsh not only to their servants but also to themselves. Failure is worse than death, but victory is twice as sweet. They are known to be gracious master to those who serve them well, rewarding graciously and punishing failure harshly. The same philosophy is used on the self to push for more power, making your own weakness more painful. They show great respect and reverence for those in power, but are also the first to strike when their Ductus show weakness, so that they can claim their rightful place.

Known Heresies

The Inquisition hunt various groups as heretics and traitors to the Sabbat. these are just a few of the most common ones.

Methuselah Cults

those that worship other kindred like Gods are heretics. They deny The Dark Father and seek to enslave us to the Thirsting Elders.
